I cracked Michelle Obama up…
It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged any work, but I think you’ll agree that this is the post of all posts to come back with…
SeNd In ThE cLoWnS brought me on to be the photographer for their amazing photo posing station after creating an unbelievable event for Michelle Obama’s speaking tour/fundraising junket of Southern California this weekend. This amazing and elegant (yet very fun) event was in the backyard of Gwen Stefani’s house.
We celebrated with the wonderful volunteers and generous campaign donors on the tennis courts, and were lucky enough to witness Michelle Obama’s speech to the crowd.
Afterwards she made her way through the crowd to shake every hand and stop for photos with each person. Hugging children, encouraging votes, recognizing the work ahead of us, but meanwhile connecting, being real and being honest, she because something so much more than just FLOTUS. She became one of us. I asked if I could have a photo with her, and Leesa Zelken grabbed my camera as I stood in front of the First Lady for the shot. Mrs. Obama suddenly wrapped her arms around me which resulted in my lack of inner censor, as I squeaked out “Michelle Obama is touching me!” All of a sudden Michelle Obama is laughing WITH me, hugging me, grounding me, lightly jostling me and appreciating me. Life moment? You bet. Next to the birth of my twins, this is possibly the greatest life moment I have ever experienced. Blessed. Honored. Happy. Content. Amazed. Awestruck. There are way too many words to describe my emotions. Way too many. But GRATEFUL, that’s the best one possible.
By the way, take a second and learn more about the “It Takes One” campaign. It was something that was passionately shared and hopefully I’ll do my part by sharing it with you.
